These days distractions are everywhere be it, on the TV, the Internet, friends, etc.. As a student it can very hard to effectively manage the time by yourself because of the big amount of assignments, classes, and sometimes part-time jobs. It can be a nightmare! However you can survive all of this if you learn about time management for students.

The first step in time management for students is to actually organize yourself. Sure, you have a lot of things to do and many places to go, but unless you take the time to organize everything, you'll be walking blindly everywhere and wasting a lot of time. So, for this matter you'll need to turn big tasks into smaller ones. So for instance, instead of “writing an essay”, you can divide the task into smaller chunks (research in library, typing a draft, etc). This simple steps will make things far easier.

Once you have your list of tasks, you should tackle the difficult and boring ones first! Yes, don't put them aside to the end, cause chances are you won't do them at all. If you find that you have a number of boring tasks, you can do one of them, then a fun one, then a boring one and so on. This is stuff that needs to be done, and once you get it out of your schedule you will lower down your stress and anxiety levels.

You will start to notice that you are getting a lot of things done, and that's a great thing to realize. These “little achievements” are the ones that will catapult you to bigger ones. If you don't complete a task for the day, save the guilt for another day, you can schedule it for the next day as you learn how to better manage your time. These techniques need to be developed and practiced in order to master them.
